Dhoni's time is up

Former cricketer and selector Mohinder Amarnath seems that MS Dhoni's a opportunity to be in the Evaluate team is up, lending his conversation to improving need for the wicketkeeper-batsman’s reduction from the team.

The 62-year old who was removed from India’s option board purportedly after asking for Dhoni’s sacking, revealed his views on Times Now.

"If you see his popularity for the last one period, he has done well in one-day cricket, but in Tests he has not led from front side aspect," said Amarnath, who had conducted 69 Tests and 85 ODIs for Native indian.

"As a innovator, your place should be secured. I do not see that for Dhoni."

"I am not against Dhoni. I like the guy. But we should look at it from a broader perspective. You should look at the moment performance of players rather than past actions."

Amarnath revealed Dhoni's series was described a few several weeks ago. Without brands anybody, Amarnath said there was contract regarding this. But the option wasn't followed through.

"There was a discussion to alternative Dhoni with somebody else. People had made the decision to do that. But for some objective did not do it."

When asked for about who was putting the pressure on keeping Dhoni, Amarnath retreated saying, “That is an inner problem. I cannot discuss it currently.”

Throwing his body weight behind Amarnath was another former selector, C Raja Venkat, who revealed the Southern Place in the Krishnamachari Srikkanth-led option board.

"There are better wicketkeeper batsmen in the country. Dhoni does not are eligible to a place in the Evaluate aspect. Even his captaincy is under question," Venkat said. Dhoni too comes from the Southern Place.
